T assembly pays tributes to Narsimha Rao instead of Maulana Azad, Muslim MLAs mute

Telangana assembly on Tuesday paid rich tributes to former prime minister P V Narsimha Rao, while it was the birth anniversary of first education minister of the country and freedom fighter Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. Although the assembly paid no tribute to Maulana Azad, Congress and TRS member vied with each other in singing praises to Narsimha Rao. Interestingly Muslim members of the assembly remained tight lipped as they are playing the role of ruling party’s ally.

Government announced to celebrate birth anniversary of Maulana Azad as ‘Minority Welfare Day’ but Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao didn’t attend the celebration held in Ravindra Bharati just a few steps away from the assembly. All the chief ministers had attended the celebrations in the past.
