Hyderabad, June 05: Promising to bring life in the region to a grinding halt, Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Kodandaram on Saturday stated the Telangana agitation would be intensified after July 10.
Talking to media persons after emerging out of a Joint Action Committee meeting convened at a private hotel in Banjara Hills, Prof Kodandaram stated that a meeting would be convened on June 7 to decide the future course of agitation on Telangana.
He said the June 7 decisions would be drastic and agitations would be organized on the lines of `Million March ’. Prof Kodandaram promised to bring life in Telangana region to a grinding halt due to the intensified agitations.
He said that the JAC meeting has decided to conduct Vanta Varpu (traffic blockades) on National Highways from July 10.
The meeting also decided not to allow free movement of those Telangana leaders who are opposed to Telangana state formation.
Attending the meeting, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao refuted the allegations of Telugu Desam Party leaders that the TRS would obstruct the Ranabheri to be organized in Tandur, Rangareddy district, June 10.
KCR termed the elections of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker as a drama, enacted by the Congress and TDP. “They (both Congress and TDP) have fixed the match and are merely enacting a drama,” KCR stated.
This drama will also be re-enacted over the No Confidence Motion too, he predicted.
The TRS chief advised Telangana leaders from Congress and TDP not to participate in the voting over the No Confidence Motion, if it is introduced, until government takes a clear stand on Telangana.
