Karimnagar, September 12: Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar on Sunday appealed to the Centre to begin the process for the formation of Telangana state.
Talking to media persons, Ponnam Prabhakar demanded that the Telangana ministers submit their resignations directly to Governor ESL Narasimhan for the cause of statehood. He said that the Ministers should press for acceptance of resignations by mounting pressure on Speaker Nadendla Manohar.
Calling upon all sections of people to support the agitation for statehood, the MP said that the Telangana leaders would siege the state capital Hyderabad soon. The Centre and state government would realize the intensity of agitation after the seizure of Hyderabad, he said.
Ponnam sought the support of all sections of people for the general strike beginning from September 13 under the aegis of Telangana Political Joint Action Committee. He exhorted Telangana people to use general strike of employees as a weapon to achieve Telangana state.
Meanwhile the TPJAC has appealed to all Telangana leaders to make the conference being held in Karimnagar on September 12 a grand success. The conference would discuss strategies to be adopted to achieve statehood for Telangana region.
