Hyderabad, October 17: Tension prevailed at Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy and Telangana Steering committee chairman K Jana Reddy residences when the Telangana activists attempted to barge into their houses protesting against the arrest of elected representatives during Rail Roko agitation.
The Telangana Rashtra Samithi women’s wing activists tried to storm into residence of Sabitha Reddy at Srinagar Colony protesting against the minister’s alleged irresponsive attitude in not enquiring about women elected representatives and other activists, who were arrested during Rail Roko agitation. However, the police foiled their attempts and took them into custody.
Raising slogans against the Home Minister, the activists questioned as to what the minister was doing when the women activists lodged in jail. They activists demanded immediate withdrawal of police cases on all women activists and unconditional apology from the minister for their illegal arrest.
Meanwhile Telangana advocates JAC members tried to picket the residence of Telangana Steering Committee chairman and Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy for calling to stop general strike of employees citing inconvenience being caused to the general public as the reason. The advocates asked Janareddy to resign from the cabinet and as MLA and join the statehood agitation. The police arrested the lawyers and shifted them to Banjara Hills police station.
