Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited Managing Director NVS Reddy unfurled the National Tricolour and congratulated the staff and conveyed his best wishes to their families on the auspicious occasion of the 70th Independence Day at Metro Rail Bhavan here on Monday.
Addressing the gathering of engineers and officers of HMRL, NVS Reddy said it was time for all Indians to retrospect and reflect the progress India has achieved. He appealed to the citizens to change the thought process and become more responsible and exhorted them to display strong conviction and courage. Reddy said, “It is important for all of us to recollect the sacrifices made by eminent leaders and personalities and we need to understand the responsibilities that are entrusted on us and should focus all our efforts in taking India to the Golden Threshold. He quoted some of the major achievements like the Telecom and IT revolutions that drew the attention of the entire world in identifying the talent, abilities and resources India has.
The HMRL MD said systematic and structured urbanisation was important for the country’s growth and Hyderabad Metro Rail was one such project incorporating financial and engineering innovations to transform Hyderabad into one of the most desired global green cities as per the vision of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. He also said Hyderabad Metro Rail was earning international recognition as an innovative project and it will set new global benchmarks for other cities to emulate and added that HMRL is a game changer not only to the country, but also to the entire world.
Independent engineer Louis Berger, Krishna Swamy, HMRL Chief Engineer Md. Ziauddin and other senior engineers and officers participated in the celebrations. (NSS)
