Syria truce holds despite clashes between rebels and govt.

Clashes broke out between Syria’s border guards and armed anti-government groups in the country’s northwest near the Turkish border on Thursday.

Elsewhere, the Syrian state media say armed anti-government rebels have assassinated two army personnel in the western city of Hama, near the capital Damascus.

Also, Syrian state TV said on Thursday armed terrorists targeted a military bus with an explosive device near al-Nirab Airport Bridge in the northern city of Aleppo, killing one soldier and injuring 24 others.

The Syrian government has issued a warning that security forces would “respond proportionately to any attacks carried out by armed terrorist groups against civilians, government forces or public and private property.”

Syria has been gripped by deadly unrest since mid-March 2011, which the government blames on foreign-backed armed gangs.

The West and the Syrian opposition, however, accuse the government of killing protesters.
