‘The Switch’ bombs at box office

London, August 24: Jennifer Aniston’s latest release ‘The Switch’ has performed badly in its opening week by grossing a mere USD 8.1 at the US box office.

It is a second disappointment for the star, whose last rom-com ‘Bounty Hunter’ starring Gerard Butler too failed to impress the audience. However, ‘Bounty Hunter’ had a better opening weekend by collecting USD 20 million.

The film, co-staring Jason Bateman, could not match Sylvestser Stallone’s directorial vehicle ‘The Expendables’, which continued ruling the number one spot for the second weekend running. The film has now grossed USD 64.9 million, Daily Mail reported.

‘The Switch’ was also beaten at the box office by the Twilight spoof ‘Vampires Suck’, which grabbed second place with USD 12.2 million, ‘Bow Wow’s Lottery Ticket’ took fourth slot with USD 11 million while Kelly Brook starrer ‘Piranha 3-D’ came at number six with USD 10 million.
