Swine flu grips Hyderabad city, Dy CM Mahmood Ali latest victim

HYDERABAD: Telangana Deputy CM Mohammed Mahmood Ali has been tested positive with swine flu, the viral infection that has killed about half a dozen in the state.

As per media reports, the Minister found to be H1N1 positive three days back. The infection was at an early stage and is not life- threatening.

He has been admitted at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) and is being treated for the infection.

A 10-month-old baby died of swine flu at Gandhi Hospital in the city. The kid, a resident of Bibinagar in Yadadri district, was undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital since January 19. He succumbed to the virus two days ago.

As many as 5 died of swine flu and 100 positive cases of H1N1 disease have been reported in the state since January 1.

The health department has advised people to approach the hospital at the first symptoms of swine flu like high fever, sneezing, cough and body pain.
