Kolkata, July 30: Swine flu has claimed yet another life in West Bengal raising the toll to three, while two fresh cases were reported here today.
The latest casualty from the disease was a resident of Ariadaha in North 24-parganas district who died yesterday, health department sources said.
Two fresh cases were reported during the day, while the condition of three was stated to be critical in state-run hospitals, they said.
The total number of affected was 93.
Describing the situation as “not alarming”, Health minister Suryakanta Mishra said the disease was yet to be brought under control.
“There is no reason to panic. The state government has taken adequate measures to contain spread of swine flu,” Mishra told PTI.
The Health department has opened quarantine wards in state hospitals and asked the private ones to do the same.
