Hyderabad: Sanaj Begum, 38, a resident of Jahanuma, Nawab Saheb Kunta succumbed to H1N1 virus in the city on Sunday, taking the toll to 2 this year. She died while undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital. It must be noted that 35-year-old Manjula, a resident of Domalguda and native of Yadadri district had died at the same hospital on January 5.
According to sources 35 confirmed swine flu patients are currently under treatment in private hospitals. In all the cases, swab samples were found to be H1N1 positive by the Institute of Preventive Medicine.
According to Health officials prevailing cold wave condition in the city is likely to aggravate H1N1 infections. They advised people to take adequate preventive measures like vaccination, keeping distance from people suffering from cough and cold, frequent washing of hands and avoiding undue exposure to cold weather.
