Hyderabad, July 28: The state saw five deaths due to the dreaded swine flu epidemic during July 19 to July 25, according to the weekly figures released by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday.
The five deaths were from the confirmed 34 cases of H1N1 afflictions during the week.
Since the first confirmed case of the deadly virus being confirmed in Hyderabad in May 2009, the state saw a total of 906 confirmed cases.
A total of 64 persons from the state lost their lives to the dreaded disease.
The country has lost 1692 persons to the disease from among the 34,669 confirmed swine flu infections since May 2009.
Samples from 1,49,077 persons have been tested for Influenza A H1N1 in government laboratories and a few private laboratories across the country. Of these, 34,669 (23.2 per cent) have been found positive.
The five deaths reported from the state are included among the 38 deaths reported from across the country during the week.
