Swine flu cases on the rise in city

Hyderabad: Swine flu cases are on the rise in twin cities. Pregnant women, children and elderly people should take preventive vaccines, told doctors of Max Cure Hospital, Hyderabad.

Dr. Manjula, Dr. Kedarnath, consultant pediatrician Max Cure Soyu Shah, Dr. Rahul Agarwal, Senior Consultant General physician Max Cure Hospital said that they could save the life of a 2-month old baby girl Lavanya, who was affected by Swine Flu as her parents approached the hospital in time.

They said, swine flu can be prevented by getting a flu vaccination every year without fail. The vaccination costs Rs. 650. Dr. Kedarnath said that instances of swine flu are more among children aged less than 9 years. Dr. Rahul Agarwal advised people not to ignore symptoms like fever, cough, headache, breathlessness, vomiting etc. Pregnant women, elderly people, diabetic patients and people with chronic illness are at a higher risk of getting swine flu.
