Swine flu cases crosses 50 in J&K

Jammu, December 18: With one more positive flu case being reported today, 51 persons have been tested positive for H1N1 virus so far in Jammu and Kashmir, a health department official said here.

According to Dr R S Charak, the nodal officer for swine flu, one girl had died due to swine flu in Kashmir so far.

All the patients tested positive in Jammu and Kashmir have responded well to tamiflu and they were improving after receiving treatment, he said.

Charak also said that the government has enough stocks of medicines to treat the influenza and added, “We have screened more than 69,000 persons since May this year at Jammu and Srinagar Airports, Lakhanpur-the entry point to the state and Surveillance and Isolation Centre in Jammu city.
