Swedish company to set up power plant in Telangana

weden-based company Business & Green Technology Promotion has come out with a proposal to establish power plants in Telangana from out of garbage and organic waste.

Company’s Managing Director Raman Nagarajan, along with consultant Daina Millers Dalsio and waste management expert Towe Ireblad, called on Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Wednesday afternoon in the State Secretariat. They informed that an estimated 4,500 Metric Tonnes of garbage and organic waste could be collected in Hyderabad city from out of which 108 MW of power could be produced at the rate of 36 MW for every 1500 Metric tonnes.

They also told that from the same garbage and organic waste bio diesel and biogas may also be produced which can be made use in the garbage collecting vehicles. This will also ensure that cleaning of the city will be done in a systematic manner. Bio diesel and biogas ensures decrease in the pollution levels. The delegation told the CM that Asian Development Bank is likely to finance this type of projects.

Responding to the proposal the Chief Minister said that he would examine in detail and then consider the proposal.

Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma, Principal Secretary to CM S Narsing Rao and Additional Secretary to CM Smita Sabharwal were present in the meeting. (INN)
