Bhopal, August 26: Deputy leader of BJP in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today refused to entertain questions on controversies hounding the saffron party.
Swaraj avoided media on the issue of Jaswant Singh and Arun Shourie in Bhopal, where she arrived yesterday, and Vidisha today, her parliamentary constituency.
Both Swaraj and Chouhan were in Vidisha to inaugurate the newly constructed Sports Complex in the town built with an estimated cost of Rs 3 crore.
Addressing the function, Swaraj said that it is a fact that sporting talent normally emerges from the rural areas but lack of facilities prevented them from scaling heights.
She lauded state government for spending Rs 22 crore out of the total sports budget of Rs 50 crore in the rural areas.
Chouhan said that his government is making all out efforts to promote sports and sporting talent in the state, adding that his government has raised the sports budget from Rs four crore to Rs 50 crore in last five years.
The state’s Sports and Tourism Minister Tukojirao Pawar and Finance Minister Raghavji among others were present on the occasion.
Chouhan also inaugurated various schemes worth nearly Rs 11 crore aimed at developing infrastructure facilities and promoting tourism in Vidisha.
