Swara Bhasker slams Yogi sarkar for sacking Dr Kafeel Ahmad

MUMBAI: Actor Swara Bhasker criticized the Yogi Adityanaths government who is playing a game of suspension in the name of action. 

The Anarkali of Aarah actress said that to hide their failures, a Dr Kafeel has been targeted, who saved the lives of innocent people by risking himself.

Paediatrician Dr Kafeel Ahmad emerged as a hero in social media  who emptied his own pocket to keep the children breathing at state-run BRD Medical College Hospital in Gorakhpur.

After the sacking of Dr. Kafeel from his post, actress has expressed her resentment through Twitter.

She wrote, “Wow!! Good job #UttarPradesh sarkar.. Dismiss the man who saved the lives at risk ‘coz of your callous irresponsibility. This ur #RamRajya?

She also demanded UP Health Minister Siddharth Nath Singh’s resignation. Taking to Twitter, Swara expressed deep anguish over the death of the children.

“UP health minister Siddharth Nath Singh Please RESIGN,” she wrote.

In another tweet, she said, “Gorakhpur Children Tragedy Indefensible!!!”

This comes after Swara had launched an online campaign last month against mob lynching, demanding a ban on cow vigilante groups.

According to the information, nearly 70 of them, including infants, have died from encephalitis since Saturday set off a nation-wide outrage and political recrimination.

Many of these deaths were alleged to have been caused by shortage of oxygen, a claim dismissed by the government.

BJP chief Amit Shah, who is in Bengaluru, rejected the demand for Adityanath’s ouster, saying such incidents had also happened in states governed by the Congress.

Meanwhile, the NHRC has sent a notice to the Uttar Pradesh government over the tragedy, observing it indicated “gross callousness” on part of the health administration.
