Swamy writes to UD minister on Associated Journals issue

New Delhi: After filing a private complaint in a local court on the Associated Journals issue, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has now written to Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu, saying that properties allotted to AJL here for alleged violation of allotment conditions should be taken over.

In a letter to Naidu, Swamy said the land allotted to AJL by DDA was for printing and publishing the newspaper National Herald, which is not being done and thus DDA has the right to enter the premises allegedly being “misused” by AJL which is “collecting rent at exorbitant rates”.

He also said that AJL properties in Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and in Mumbai in Maharashtra have been taken over by the respective state governments ever since his complaint was filed in Delhi’s Patiala House Court, which had also issued summons to Sonia and Rahul Gandhi, who own 76 per cent of the company’s shares.

“Hence I urge you to do the same thing with Herald House on the Bahadurshah Zafar Marg, New Delhi,” he said. Both Sonia and and Rahul Gandhi along with five others were granted bail by the court on December 19, 2015 after they appeared in response to the summons.
