New Delhi : Suzuki Motorcycles India Pvt. Ltd. on Tuesday launched the all new Access 125, which was showcased at the Auto Expo last month.
The scooter replaces the old Access which was not doing very well. The Access was the first scooter to be launched by Suzuki when it commenced operations in 2007.
The new Access has prices starting at Rs 53,887 (Ex-Showroom Delhi).
The scooter comes with a push button start, the first of its kind in any two wheeler manufactured in India, and an optional disk brake in the front.
The engine continues to be a 125 cc, single-cylinder, air cooled, SOHC engine, which is now has Suzuki’s Eco Performance technology (SEP). This will deliver power worth 8.5 bhp at 7,000 rpm and 10.2 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm.
“India is one of the most important markets for Suzuki’s two-wheeler business. We are looking to sell one million units annually by 2020,” SMC’s subsidiary SMIPL outgoing Managing Director Masayoshi Ito told reporters here.
Suzuki claims that the Access has a fuel efficiency of 64 kmpl with the longest seat and under seat storage in the segment.
Bookings of the Suzuki Access 125 commence at dealerships from today, while deliveries will start in a few days. Suzuki plans to increase touch-points in India from the current 800 to 1,000. (ANI)
