Suspension of MLAs strange, says Jeevan Reddy

The suspension of two TDP members — Revanth Reddy and S Venkata Veeraiah — from the Assembly for rest of the budget session was very strange, said CLP deputy leader T Jeevan Reddy today.

Reacting to the government’s action against the two MLAs saying their interruption of Governor’s speech was in utter violation of Legislature rules, Jeevan Reddy said the people in the entire State were silently watching the arm-twisting methods of the government and would give a fitting reply at an appropriate time.

Stating that there were many “lies” in the Governor’s speech, the former minister said protests by Opposition members against the government’s questionable actions were common in a democratic country, but the KCR government was functioning like a monarch. Jeevan Reddy contended that there were many untruths in the Governor’s address with regard filling of jobs and no mention of the much-trumpeted “double bed room houses scheme”. There was also no mention of the NREGS, ST, SC sub-plan and 12% reservation to the Minorities. (NSS)
