A suspended woman constable, who had alleged sexual harassment by her seniors, today attempted suicide in the premises of Maharashtra Legislature. Police said the condition of 25-year-old Amrita Akolekar was stable and she was recovering in the hospital. Aurangabad-based Akolekar, who had earlier alleged that she was sexually harassed by three assistant commissioners of police, consumed pesticide in the Legislature premises. She reportedly came to meet Home Minister R R Patil. Police are trying to find out what prompted her to attempt suicide. A case of attempt to commit suicide was registered against her, police said.
