Suspended judge K Lakshmi Narasimha Rao, who was arrested in the cash-for-bail scam of mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy, on Monday alleged that he was being implicated in the case in order to shield Minister for Law and Courts Erasu Pratap Reddy.
In a letter written to the State Human Rights Commission, Supreme Court and High Court judges, from the Chanchalguda Central Jail, the former judge alleged that ACB Joint Director Sampath Kumar was harassing his family members in the name of investigations and threatening them with dire consequences. He alleged that the probing agency was trying to save the Law Minister, Erasu Pratap Reddy, and he was falsely implicated in the case and the charges leveled against him were baseless. However, the State Human rights Commission has rejected his petition.
Earlier, the ACB court on Sunday remanded Lakshminarasimha Rao to four days ACB custody for further questioning. According to the ACB, Lakshminarasimha Rao confessed that Dasaradharami Reddy, a relative of Gali, had made Rs 100 crore offer to get bail for Gali Janardhan Reddy and R Surya Prakash Babu was assigned the role of a mediator in the transfer of money.
