Midnapore(WB), November 15: A suspected Maoist tonight shot dead a 35-year-old man at Banspahari in West Midnapore district, police sources said.
The suspected Maoist shot dead Shasti Charan Dutta in front of the Banspahari school at around 7.30 pm, officials said.
Meanwhile, the People’s Committee Against Police Atrocities (PCPA) today gheraoed a police camp at Beltikri village demanding the release of two PCPA members detained by the police yesterday.
The PCPA sources alleged that 20 of their supporters were injured when police lathicharged them during the gherao.
Police said they have no report of any injury during the lathicharge.
