Madhya Pradesh Congress on Tuesday alleged that several BJP leaders, including Union minister Sushma Swaraj, have shown disrespect to the martyrs of the Pathankot terror attack by taking part in the celebrations after a state leader was re-elected to the party’s key post. “BJP leaders, including Sushma have brought disrespect to martyrs (Indian security personnel), who lost their lives fighting Pakistani terrorists, by taking part in the revelries held at the state BJP office here to celebrate Nandkumar Singh Chauhan’s re-election to the saffron party’s state president post,” MP Congress spokesperson Pankaj Chaturvedi said.
The BJP leaders burst crackers, danced and distributed sweets to celebrate Chauhan’s victory. “The real face of BJP stands exposed,” he alleged. According to Chaturvedi, Pathankot attack was the second incident of intelligence failure in the country since independence. “The first such intelligence failure had also taken place during the NDA regime that resulted in Kargil war,” he said.
