NEW DELHI: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj faced vicious trolling on social media for “appeasing Muslims” regarding the Lucknow passport row.
On Tuesday, a fairly well-known Twitter user Sonam Mahajan, who identifies herself as a TV panelist in a sarcastic tweet ‘asked’ Swaraj to block her.
‘Yeh good governance dene aaye the. Yeh lo bhai, achhe din aa gaye hain. @SushmaSwaraj ji, I was once a fan and fought against those who abused you, ab aap please, mujhe bhi block kar ke, inaam dijiye. Intezaar rahegaa (sic),’ she wrote on Twitter tagging Swaraj.

Without much delay, Ms Swaraj blocked Mahajan, has over two lakh followers on the micro-blogging site. In an epic response, Ms Swaraj wrote, ‘Intezaar kyon ? Lijiye block kr diya.’

Swaraj’s response has gone viral and within an hour, it garnered over 3.7K ‘likes’ and 1.2 K RTs. Here are some tweets:

Ms Swaraj was abused by troll army in connection with the passport issuance of an inter-faith couple. On June 30, the External Affairs Minister started a Twitter poll against the trolling and asked her followers if they support it or not.
