New Delhi: Sushma Swaraj, External Affairs Minister, will address the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York on 26 September. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not attend the UNGA session for the first time in three years.
This year’s general debate will open on 20 September and will run through to 26 September. Swaraj will speak at the annual high-level debate. In 2014, Modi presented in the UN summit his vision for India’s foreign policy that decisively moved away from the vestiges of the polemics of the anti-colonial era while committing to promotion of global democracy.
