Susan Sarandon will be playing mother of late star Marilyn Monroe in Lifetime’s upcoming mini-series titled ‘Marilyn.’
The 68-year-old Oscar-winning actress will portray the Monroe’s mentally ill mother in the four-hour film, which is based on the bestselling book The Secret Life Of Marilyn Monroe by J. Randy Taraborrelli, Deadline.com reported.
The biopic, which was written by Stephen Kronish, would focus on the Hollywood icon, who though dazzled on the red carpets in shimmering gowns, had to fight a battle against demons she’s inherited from her mother.
The film, which has been set for 2015 premier, would be helmed by Laurie Collyer and executive produced by Jonathan Koch, Steven Michaels, Keri Selig and Kronish. (ANI)
