Surveys reveal NRIs longing for motherland

Hyderabad: According to two recent global surveys conducted on NRIs, statistics state majority Indians wish to return back to motherland India.

The longing for their motherland and wish to do big in their country is what most Indians look for after acquiring the required skills and education to make it big in India.

Harvard Law School’s recent survey revealed 50 percent of Indian NRIs plan doing entrepreneurship in India when they return back to the country.

Another survey by Indeed revealed 44 percent Indians wish to return to India once they are done in the US. It also revealed though there was a 20 percent drop in job aspirants for Gulf last year it improved this year apart from a 10 percent rise in aspirants opting for countries like Germany and Ireland also.

Speaking of shifting back to India, a computer techie Gowri Dhan from Philips, America, says, “We are staying in Boston. I along with my husband want to go back to India. It is not a decision related to fear from President Donald Trump or racism.”

Another Indian techie from Hyderabad settled in the US M Madhava Kumar says Indians who have acquired good positions in the IT sector desire to return to India. He said, “After getting good salaries and savings, they want to establish companies or startups in India”.
