Mr. Qamarul Islam, minister for Minority Welfare and Waqf informed the Legislative Council that the department would commence survey of all waqf properties and complete by end of October, here on February 25.
Syed Mudeer Aga, JD(S) stated that the allocation of Rs. 4-crore for protection of waqf properties was too less. Mr. Qamarul Islam, responded by saying the department was taking necessary steps to protect waqf properties. A survey by Department of Survey and Settlement officials had already been ordered. The Commissioner for Survey and Settlement would finalise the report after validation by revenue authorities i.e. tahsildars and deputy commissioners. Funds had been released to deputy commissioners to facilitate the survey, he said.Courtesy:Karnataka Muslim
