Hyderabad, August 08: Maddelacheruvu Suryanarayana Reddy alias Suri, the prime accused in the killing of former TDP MLA Paritala Ravi, was shifted to the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) here today from the Anantapur sub-jail for treatment.
Suri, escorted by a battery of police personnel from Anantapur, drove into NIMS in a convoy this morning.
Tight security arrangements were in place in and outside the hospital.
“He is suffering from several health problems. In the past also he was admitted to the NIMS for a few days,’’ a police official said.
Then there were speculations about his meeting with a Cabinet minister from Rayalaseema region.
Suri is also an accused in the sensational Jubilee Hills car bomb blast case of 1996.
TD legislators to visit areas hit by drought
HYDERABAD: Telugu Deasm Legislature Party (TDLP) teams will visit drought-hit areas of the State on Saturday and Sunday.
Party MLAs and MLCs will visit several districts and interact with farmers.
As the drought subject was listed in the business of the Assembly, the party wanted to highlight the issue by gathering the information directly from farmers.
TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu directed the party MLAs and MLCs to instill confidence in farmers.
