Surekha Flays Removal Of SK Varsity

Hyderabad, August 04: Strongly criticizing the removal of Prof Kusuma Kumari from Srikrishna Devaraya University vice-chancellor post, the Kadapa MP Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy’s loyalist and Parakala MLA Ms Konda Surekha demanded the government to extend the scope of retired High Court Judge Justice Hanmanthu Commission, which probed in to the allegations against Prof Kusuma Kumari, to all the universities in the state.

Speaking to media persons in the Assembly premises here on Tuesday, Ms Surekha alleged that the government has intentionally removed Prof Kusuma Kumari from the VC’s post because her brother-in-law Mr Karunakar Reddy was a close aide of Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy. She said it was a conspiracy to belittle Mr Jagan in the state. She appealed to the government to reconsider the recall of Prof Kusuma Kumari and added that Ms Kusuma Kumari was meted out with injustice though she was a woman. She said that it was nothing but a dishonor to the woman VC. She said that it was not proper for the government to take action against Prof Kusuma Kumari without taking her version.

She alleged that MP Mr Rajaiah’s wife Ms Madhavi has been appointed as Assistant Professor in the Kakathiya University though she was not eligible for the post. She said that Ms Sravanthi was not appointed for the same though she had Ph.D in the subject concerned. Ms Surekha alleged that Ms Madhavi has got that post with the recommendation of the Major Irrigation Minister Mr Ponnala Laxmaiah and MP Rajaiah though she was a supplementary candidate in her entire education career.
