Surat gang rapist sell sex MMS clips, per clip at Rs 5000

Surat, June 25: Shocking disclosures in the Surat gangrape case continues to be made almost every day, the latest being that the three accused were running a veritable cellphone porn industry, using girls whom they befriended at Garba classes.

Sources in the police department said that two of the accused, Shahid Saiyad and Tariq Saiyad, had confessed to filming on cellphones their sexual encounters with scores of other unsuspecting girls and selling MMS clips of the encounters to the third accused, Abu Bakr, at Rs5,000 per clip. Bakr, who had a mobile phone business, would then sell the pornographic clips at a big profit.

The sources said the Surat police have recovered around 12 such clips in which the three accused had recorded their sexual encounters with girls and prostitutes.

The three had used the Opel Astra car owned by Shahids father to lure many other girls.

The accused raped the victim girls in the car even as they filmed the rapes. Incidentally, Shahids father, NG Saiyad, is a police inspector.

Explaining the modus operandi of the three rape suspects, the sources said Shahid and Tariq used to lure girls studying at Surat’s colleges. The two rape accused had joined garba and western dance classes. “The unsuspecting girls befriended the two rapists,” a source said. “The girls would then have consensual sex with them which the three suspects filmed secretly on cellphones. They later sold MMS clips of the scenes they had filmed.”

Sources claimed people in Surat had started having suspicions about the activities of the three accused.
