Surat Craftsmen to offer biggest ‘chadar’ at Ajmer Sharif

The biggest ‘chadar’ put together by the skilled craftsmen of Surat is to be offered at the Ajmer Dargah Sharif on the occasion of the 803rd Urs of Sufi saint Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishty.

The ‘chadar’ is 24 meters long and 17 meters wide. It took six months for ten craftsmen to make the ‘chadar’ and is said to be the biggest ‘chadar’ to be offered at the Dargah.

The 803rd Urs (annual festival) of the revered Sufi saint began on Monday.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and United States President Barrack Obama have also sent chadars to be offered at Ajmer Sharif. (ANI)
