New Delhi: Seeking clarification on Apex Court’s order staying Centre’s two notifications on banning of cattle for slaughter, an application has been filed in Supreme Court.
The Apex court will be hearing the application filed by animal activist Gauri Maulekhi on 21 July.
The bench headed by Chief Justice J.S. Khehar and Justice D.Y. Chandrachud will be hearing the application after it has sought clarification of order passed on July 11, which has brought attention to Madras High Court’s order staying only one rule of the centres ban on cattle slaughter.
The Apex Court on July 11 had extended the Madras High Court’s stay on Centre’s two notifications, Prevention of Cruelty to Animal (Regulation of Livestock Markets) Rules and Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (care and maintenance of case property animals) rules for the whole country.
