Hyderabad: Dept. of Civil Supplies, Govt. of Telangana has plans to discontinue the supply of Kerosene from 2nd June in Hyderabad. Incidentally, this is the date of formation of Telangana State. Hyderabad will become the first city in south India which would be free from the use of Kerosene.
Mr. M. K. Rathod, District Supply Officer told that if this is implemented, Hyderabad would become the first city in the south India. Delhi and Chandigarh are the States in which Kerosene is not used. He further told that there are 1.20 lakh consumers who use Kerosene. The Dept. of Civil Supplies is identifying those families who have LPG connections and they are still getting Kerosene at subsidized rates. He informed that there are not more than 20000 families who fall under this category.
