Mumbai, March 03: Expressing dissatisfaction over their investigation into ‘superbike’ scam, the Bombay High Court today asked the police to file a fresh report within two weeks.
Primary probe report, submitted today by Deputy Superintendent of Police, Raigad, Pandurang More says “there were some irregularities.”
However, reports filed by Directorate of Revenue Intelligence had mentioned that in many cases import documents (on the basis of which bikes were registered by RTOs in Raigad, Thane, and suburban Andheri) were fake. There are some 640 such cases, as per police’s investigation.
Advocate Aspi Chinoy, appointed by the court as amicus curie, remarked that this was not matter of irregularities, but a criminal conspiracy involving RTO officials.
Agreeing with advocate Chinoy, division bench of Justices F I Rebello and J H Bhatia asked the police to file a fresh report within two weeks.
