Mumbai, March 24: Sunny Deol — Shilpa Shetty starrer The Man has been stuck for over a year now. The release of the film directed by Neeraj Pathak has been delayed several times. Sources reveal that an irritated Shilpa has washed her hands off the project and has decided to move on.
The Man has been in the making for over three years now. Sunny and Neeraj have been co-directing the film, which is said to be a remake of The Bodyguard. In early 2008, when Shilpa Shetty signed on to do an item song for Dostana, Sunny had called Karan worried that his film’s prospects would get affected if his leading lady was seen doing an item girl in another film. He requested KJo to postpone the release. While Dostana released in November 2008, the fate of The Man still hangs in limbo.
Bizarre request
Last year, when Shilpa was getting married, Sunny made a bizarre request that she postpone her wedding till such time as the film released. That too was three months ago.
Reports suggest that Shilpa is not interested in giving any more dates for the film as it has been stuck for a long time. The actress fumes, “This is pure hogwash that I am not giving dates for The Man! I thought maybe the film is not happening as no one from their side has approached me for dates. I am very professional and I will always complete all my films. It’s true that am busy with the IPL but I have worked out my diary in such a way that though IPL is my priority I can accommodate my other commitments.”
