Sun stroke claims seven lives in Gujarat

Ahmedabad, May 23: Seven persons, including a 10-year-old girl, died due to sun stroke in Gujarat since last evening, as the heat wave condition prevailed in the most parts of the state.

Two persons died due to sun stroke in Ahmedabad, while 19 people were hospitalised following exhaustion and sun stroke today, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) officials said.

According to the officials, 29 people have died due to heat stroke in the city since May 20.

In Jhalod taluka of Dahod district, 34 people suffering from sun stroke were admitted to government and private hospitals, out of which one Chandrika Parmar (10) from Khakharia village, died.

Two men died in Anand district today, while several other suffering from heat and exhaustion were hospitalised.
