Suicide blast leaves 2 cops dead, 18 hurt in NW Pakistan

At least two policemen were killed and 18 others injured when a suicide bomber rammed his explosive laden motorbike into a police mobile in Pakistan”s northwest district of Bannu on Tuesday afternoon, local media reported.

Geo TV said that a police mobile carrying five cops was targeted by the suicide bomber, as soon as it left the police station for its routine patrolling.

The blast killed two policemen right on the spot and injured 18 others including three policemen who were sitting in the mobile.

The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital where several of them were in critical condition.

No group claimed responsibility for the attack yet.

The incident happened at about 1:00 p.m. (local time) outside a police station located in Saddar area of Bannu, a volatile district in the country”s northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

This is the second blast in the province since Tuesday morning. In an earlier blast, nine people were injured when a bomb exploded outside the house of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa”s information minister.
