Hyderabad, September 25: A 28 year old person created a flutter by attempting suicide near the NCC gate of Osmania University (OU) tonight. The youngster, who is said to be in an inebriated condition, reportedly raised Jai Telangana slogans.
According to police and locals, “The youngster, around 10 pm, doused himself in kerosene and tried to light himself up with a match stick but it did not fire.
Meanwhile, locals went to his rescue and foiled his attempts.” He allegedly shouted ‘Danam Nagender Down Down’ and ‘Jai Telangana’ slogans, Nallakunta police said.
He was later identified as Upender from Tirumalgiri mandal in Nalgonda district. He was shifted to the Nallakunta police station for questioning.
OUJAC leaders said the man was doing PG in a private institution outside the campus.
