NEW DELHI: Persistent buying by stockists and bulk consumers, supported upside in sugar prices at the wholesale market in the national capital on Friday.
Besides, tight supplies from mills too influenced the upside.
Marketmen said sustained rise in sugar prices was attributed to robust demand form bulk consumers as well as retailers coupled with pause in supplies from mills.
Sugar mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices rose by Rs 20 each to end at Rs 3,680-3,760 and Rs 3,670-3,750 per quintal.
In the millgate section, sugar Mawana and Dorala rose by Rs 20 each to both finished at Rs 3,700 each meanwhile, Kinnoni registered gain of Rs 15 to Rs 3,760 per quintal.
Prices of Asmoli, Dhanora and Modinagar also gained Rs 10 each to Rs 3,730, Rs 3,700 and Rs 3,710 per quintal.
