Sugar gains on increased buying

New delhi: Sugar prices inched up by Rs 10 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following increased buying by stockists and bulk consumers amid restricted arrivals.

Marketmen said better offtake by stockists and bulk consumers on the back of ongoing wedding season amid tight supplies from mills supported the upside in sweetener prices.

Sugar mill delivery M-30 and S-30 were higher by Rs 10 each to Rs 3,700-3,780 and Rs 3,690-3,770 per quintal.

In the millgate section, sugar Mawana, Kinnoni, Asmoli, Dhanora, Khatuli, Dhampur, Morna and Sakoti all moved up by Rs 10 each to Rs 3,730, Rs 3,780, Rs 3,740, Rs 3,720, Rs 3,760,

Rs 3,700, Rs 3,730 and Rs 3,710 per quintal respectively.

Sugar retail markets – Rs 42.00-46.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 4,000-4,050, S-30 Rs 3,990-4,040.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,700-3,780, S-30 Rs 3,690-3,770.
