Sufi Ulema Council urges Government to provide cattle for Bakrid

Hyderabad: With Bakrid approaching, the All India Sufi Ulema Council on Thursday urged the State Government to distribute animals through sale counters.

The Telangana government had earlier successfully implemented the ‘Telangana Bandu’ scheme by distributing animals through sale counters all across the State, Hans.

In with of the recent mob lynching atrocities reported from across the country, Moulana Hakeem Sufi Syed Shah, President AISUC said that these incidents have forced them to appeal to the State and Central governments to supply cattle through, State Animal Husbandry outlets.

With this process and a certification from the government, the president said would ensure the safety of innocent people who are doing cattle business.

The cattle suppliers’ community safety will be ensured if the Government takes account of the festival and the harassment these suppliers are subjected to.

Moreover, these traders also face criminal charges by police, who arrest the men besides the loss of their stock he added.

Moulana Tariq Quadri said that if the government arranges large-scale distribution of cattle for Bakrid for slaughter it would ensure harmony among the two communities which will in no way hurt sentiments of ‘Hindu Brothers’.

“The State Government under the dynamic leadership of ‘Telangana Bandu’, KCR had this year adopted Telangana sheep and buffalo distribution scheme, successfully distributing Rs 5,000 crore worth sheep and RS 800 crore worth buffaloes to Yadav and Kurma communities. This was an innovative scheme and similarly arranging slaughter cattle through sale counters would be first of its kind in the entire motherland,” Quadri stated.

Sufi Ulema Council has also urged the Muslim community to refrain themselves from slaughtering prohibited cattle to maintain harmony in the communities.
