Sudheer Commission’s term extended, GO issued

Hyderabad: Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel, IAS, Secretary, Dept. of Minorities Welfare issued GO 182 yesterday through which the term of office of Sudheer Commission of enquiry has been extended up to 31st December 2016.

It may be mentioned that the term of office of the said commission was to expire on 30th September. The Dept. of Minorities Welfare had recommended for 6 months extension for the commission but CM agreed for 3 months only.

It may be noted that Govt. of Telangana had constituted Sudheer Commission of enquiry last year to enquire into Social, Economic and Educational status of Muslims in Telangana State. The Commission had already submitted its report on 12th August 2016 to CM of Telangana. The commission includes Mr. G. Sudheer, IAS (Retd.), Prof. Abdus Shaaban, Mr. Mohammed Abdul Bari and Dr. Amerullah Khan. The commission has been requested to consult Advocate General to explore legal possibilities for extending reservation to Muslims. The Commission is likely to visit Tamil Nadu to study the implementation of reservations in that State which exceed 50%. After the constitution of BCs Commission, Sudheer Commission of Enquiry will extend its cooperation.

It may be noted that Siasat Urdu Daily had published the news of extension of term of office of Sudheer Commission of Enquiry four days back.
