‘Subscribe to PewDiePie’ said New Zealand gunman during massacre

In an attack which sparked global outrage, the deadliest terror attack killed forty-nine people and left dozens more wounded in shootings at two mosques in New Zealand’s Christchurch. The attacker before killing innocent people said to subscribe to PewDiePie.

The attacker was is identified as a 28-year-old Australian live-streamed the entire incident on his social media and at one point and was heard saying: “Remember lads, subscribe to PewDiePie.”

PewDiePie is the most subscribed youtube channel in the world. Created in 2010 by Swedish comedian Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg, the PewDiePie YouTube channel is best known for its “Let’s Play” videos and blogs, as well as Kjellberg’s following.

PewDiePie is known for posting humorous clips and playing live-streamed video games for his nearly 90 million followers on YouTube, making him the site’s most watched blogger.

Later three people, including an Australian were immediately taken into custody after the massacre while of them is charged with murder. The Australian-born suspect has published a manifesto praising US President Donald Trump and Anders Breivik, the Norwegian white supremacist who murdered 77 people in Norway in 2011.
