Subramanian Swamy disagrees with BJP’s salary cut decision

New Delhi: BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on Thursday said he did not agree with his party’s decision of not taking salaries for the second phase of Parliament’s budget session that had been non-functional.

Swami said it was not his fault if the House was not run smoothly as he regularly attended Parliament.

He also said he was representative of the President and he would not forgo his salary unless the latter asked him to do so.

On Thursday, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar said the NDA MPs would be giving up their salary and other allowances for 23 days “for which parliament was not allowed to function by the Congress”.
