Puducherry, August 12: Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) Secretary and former legislator Manohar today said Mr A V Subramanian should continue as the PCC president here. Addressing a press conference here, he said yesterday a report had appeared in a section of press that Congress party was defeated in the last assembly election as Mr Subramanian was not an efficient chief and the party high command was going to shift him from the post.
The defeat of the party was beacuse of the style of functioning of the ministers and Mr Subramanian could not be blamed for it, Mr Manohar said. In fact, Mr Subramanian made elected committees for the different wings of the party and strengthened it, for which UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and the central leadership had congratulated him. In this situation, Mr Subramanian should not be removed from the post and should be allowed to continue as the PCC president.
