Subhavaartha TV to launch diploma courses

Hyderabad, August 09: For the first time in Hyderabad, Subhavaartha Television, in collaboration with Bharatidasan University, Trichy, in Tamil Nadu, is going to launch Subhvaartha Television Technology Training Institute next month. It will offer a one-year diploma course in the field of television camera technology, cinematography, direction, scriptwriting and post-production.

Addressing a press conference here today, Subhavaartha TV chairman Nehru Dhyriam and managing director N Ashvin Dhyriam said that the institute would offer three diploma courses in Television Program & Direction, Television Camera Technology and Television Editing.

The minimum qualification required is 10+2 pass and admission is open to men and women with age no bar. The course fee is Rs 50,000 and can be paid in two installments.

The media of instruction will be English and Telugu languages. The course content is modelled on Geoffrey R Conway School of Broadcasting, a famous media institute in Canada.

According to Ashvin, television technology is the fastest- growing industry today and requires more qualified persons. “In the next two to three years, there will be around 50 Telugu TV channels, next only to Hindi. The institute will help in getting placements for the students enrolled,’’ he said.
