Sub plan negligence will cost dearly: Chandu Lal

Tribal Sub-Plan must be implemented in a prefer way of using every rupee and any negligence and delinquency on the part of officials will be dealt with seriously, Tribal Welfare Minister A Chandu Lal has warned.

At a high-level review meeting at Secretariat here on Monday, the minister said any negligence will cause injustice to the Tribals. The Government is giving top priority to the welfare of the Tribals spending about Rs 500 crore for laying roads to tribal villages with others and Rs 147.50 crore for various developmental works. In the current financial year, the government will construct 26 Tribal welfare buildings spending Rs 75 crore and provide skill development training to provide jobs through setting up of nine youth training centers spending Rs 36 cr and Rs 10 cr to construct 50 post metric hostels, Rs 27.5 cr for 10 working women hostels. Besides the government decided to encourage poly-house forming in 1000 acres in selected areas and offer loans to Tribals, Rs 100 cr for safe drinking water connection and Rs 84 cr for providing housing facility he said.

TS SIGNS PACK WITH UNDP

The Telangana Government signed a deal with UNDP to boost local industrialists and entrepreneurs, he said. About 1000 tribal women entrepreneurs will be encouraged in the state as the government is setting up in a month the development centers in Bhadrachalam, Eturu Nagaram, Utnur and Hyderabad. A plan is on cards that a few financial schemes of the government will be implemented through these centers. The Government welcomes the participation of private agencies and companies to support Tribal industrialists in the State, he added.
