Sub-Plan for Minorities-Congress leaders of Minority demand C.M.

(Siasat News)A delegation of Congress leaders belonging to Minorities met Mr. N.Kiran Kumar Reddy, C.M. of A.P. and demanded for the preparation of a Sub-Plan for Minorities and also to allocate Rs.5, 000 crore in the budget.

C.M. assured that the matter would be reviewed in the meeting of high-level officials, which would be convened soon.

Former Minister and member of Congress Co-ordination Committee, Mr. Mohammed Ali Shabbeer, Mr. Shahjehan Basha, Mr. Mastan Wali (MLA’s) and Mr. Mohammed Farooq Husain MLC met the C.M. in a delegation led by Minorities Welfare Minister, Mr. Mohammed Ahmedullah. The delegation also included Mr. Mohammed Sirajuddin Chairman of Minorities Cell of the Congress and Mr. Abid Rasool Khan, General Secretary of A.P.C.C. and others.

The leaders of Minority Community highlighted the declining percentage of the Muslim employees in Govt. Service, educational backwardness, less than one percent allocation of houses for the poor etc. They also told the C.M. that the Muslims have played a key role in getting the Congress to power.

The delegation impressed upon the C.M. that it is the responsibility of the Govt. to take care of the welfare of Minorities.

C.M. told that the delegation that he is aware of the problems of Minorities and he is taking steps to benefit the Muslims on a par with the other communities. He instructed the officials to convene a meeting of the higher officials very soon so that the issue of a Sub-Plan exclusively for Minorities and other problems could be considered.
