(Siasat News)Welcoming the demand made by the Muslim leaders of the Congress for allocating a separate budget provision under Minorities Sub-Plan, Mr. Feroz Khan, spokesman of the Congress told that all the leaders of Minority Community should unite together and impress upon the Govt. the need for allocating a Sub-Plan for Minorities on a par with Special Component Plan for S.C’s and S.T’s.
Citing the example of the unity exhibited by S.C’s and S.T’s for getting their problems solved, Muslims should also come forward to put forth this demand setting aside their internal disputes and ideological differences. They should rise above their party associations.
He appealed to the Govt. to allocate separate budget proportionate to the population of the Muslims. He pointed out that the present budget allocation for Minorities is insufficient. He told that Mr. N.Kiran Kumar Reddy sympathizes with the problems of Minorities. Now it is a test for him to show his interest by allocating separate budget under Sub-Plan for Minorities.
He regretted that the fees reimbursement issue has been made complicated. He demanded the Govt. to clarify its stand to remove uncertainty.
He pointed out that Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy had started fees reimbursement Scheme to benefit the poor students. Any change in this scheme would amount to doing injustice to the students. Govt’s decision to reimburse only Rs.35, 000 and the remaining amount to be paid by the student is unacceptable to Minorities.
